My newly found hobby took me 24-2-2006 gmt to a
great deal, well i guess it is:
Tamiya (great brand) "Mad Fighter", standard with 540 motor, but i dont
know the specs.
The package is complete with a great trimmable rc sender, receiver,
charging device and nicd
1500 mah 7,4 pack. All this for 159 euro, including the full
ball-bearings package and allready built!
I am waiting for it now, to come by mail.
So i
have some questions for you RC veterans about the Tamiya
mad fighter:
Am
i right that the motor that i can put into it, depends from this (bec,
sec.. spc?) controller thing?
For what i have read that must be so. If it contains a speed controller
that handles 22A max and 16 turns max.
motor, so says the manual, then i can't
get any motor that puts more power
then 22A trough the device, right?
But what <16 winded motor ( i did not find them :-( ) has good rpm/power
and stays below 22A?
Or am i looking to far in to it? and no matter what motor i use, it only
gets the power the speedcontroller let's him have?
Update, i found and orderd a
540 motor from LRP, The "runner special II"
My TEU-101BK esc can take 23 turns motor and up.
Tamiya vs Nikko
Tha Nikko is
'waterproof, drove it hot in snow and rain, through puddles of water.
The inside, and thus the electronics, is 'sealed'. Con: the pinion is
crimped on to the motor ax. Could not replace motor, or pinion.... :(
Tamiya: Open, fragile to water, easy to hurt the open electric circuits.
Pro: many hop up features.
My old (and
slower) RC cars.
Left
in photo:
the camouflage NIKKO Dominator 4 With
a....?...type motor. The wing i took off myself, this
is more to my taste. (Does a wing on a toy help at all, with r/c speeds?)
I hope it is a 540 so i can replace it with some cheap stock 540
model.
Right: The bue, don't know the
brand, sticker says 'ranger' 9,6 V off-road, 2 gear
high/low selector.
Close up of motor, 540, >10 years old !
The NIKKO was nice when i bought it. Don't know how fast, but not
slow.
Very strong acceleration, impressive impact and no harm done
architecture, fast.
Now it he's a bit slower, motor is completely
worn, must be. Since i allready ordered an upgrade
motor for the Mad Fighter, the mad fighters stock 540 will find a new
motor home in the nikko :-)
Update: different pinions, original pinion of nikko don't come off,
wouldn''t fit on my other stock 540 motor ax. :-(
The 'ranger' has a nice high/low gearbox selector, it can run
fast (ahum...) or with strong ratio for 'climbing obstacles'
It has a lot of bumper :-) The 9,4 V sounds impressive, but it really
isn't, also the 9v remote control is a laughing
matter :-) 25 feet range or so.
Could be nice for indoor, but the turning circle, like a real F1, to
large! Mis-buy... glad the whole package was just
30 euro's (with battery, rc and charger)

Hen Long, 1/24 of 1:24 rc tank radio bestuurbaar
<-- klik om te vergroten 1:24 ABRAMS M1A2
Eerste indruk: LEUK, rijd snel,
sneller met 'turbo'. Klimt goed, neemt obstakels leuk, duwt zijn eigen
verpakking dozen de kamer door.
Op de gladde ondergrond van het zeil in de keuken kan die heel snel om
zijn as draaien.
buitenomstandigheden.
